(BNE)NA8 CAS new pigtail and connector needed

Ive got a NA8 clubman. A recent purchase that needs some TLC, its not a DD and no urgency but working through the electrical/Mechanical issues before a respray, she has been running really rough when cold missing etc, the car drives great when hot. yesterday she struggled to hold idle and was ok when hot.

Comp test is good at all 4 pots 180 psi and no HLA noise,

today started and ran for 2 minutes cut out and wouldnt start again, i went looking for spark fuel etc

I found the SGC wire on the CAS broken at the base of the connector. Does anyone have a spare i can purchase in Brisbane or advise where i can make buy a pigtail made up with connector? does jaycar have the 4 pin socket connector, also the wires to the cas have been repaired previously so i want to fix it properly to eliminate as a future issue when sorting the idle problem

i am sure this will be one of many electrical component issues i will be chasing to diagnosing the start and idle issue.

cheers

If you can send me a photo I can check on the shell for the plug.

Hi mate, i just ordered a heap of new plugs from ballenger motorsports www.bmotorsports.com.
The cas plug was included in order and is part no.#CONN-75802 for the plug and terminals.
I think they offer a pigtail version too. The item name is '4 way plug kit for japenese sensors' and was cheap and quick to get to me. Hope it helps, alternately i have a plug from an old loom i could chop off and send to you. Cheers fella.

If it was an NA6 with rough cold idle, I'd immediately say CTS (green plastic top), but NA8 seems less prone to U/S CTS: Image

found this when looking for the cold idle issue

https://www.miata.net/garage/isc.html

very detailed whilst for a NA6 is still relevant,

93 clubman do you know if the 92 NA6 ISCV is the sames as the 93 NA8, i am still looking for the spec differences

They're different - NA8 BAC valve combines IAC valve & air valve, which in NA6 is split between bottom of throttle body (ISCV) & bottom of intake manifold (air valve). See pages 5:2, 5:4 & 5:11 in following re NA8 BAC valve (opens on page 5:11 BAC testing):
https://books.google.com.au/books?id=8e ... ve&f=false

Btw, check for intake system leak - some years ago a forumite had a cold idle issue that went away when warmed up. Turned out to be an intake system leak which sealed itself as it warmed up. Unfortunately can't find the thread anymore, but it took a few pages to solve.

Quick update

The Clubman is running, :D

Broken CAS Pigtail Yell Blu signal broken at the base, Thanks Blackleaf
Shorted white CAS signal wire under brake booster, repaired, also took out the O2 red signal wire with the gnd cover. looked like spilt brake fluid over time broke down the wires to a short

Chased the ecu error codes for IAT, MAF and TPS as they were all on the same Blk Blu GND found a broken Gnd wire

Grabbed a 2nd hand MAF and ECU from Red Bullet, Whom has been a great help thank you.

Purchased a TPS to fix the error codes

Replaced the water ecu temp sensor and CAS oring whilst i was back there

removed the aftermarket alarm system and repaired the ignition loom that was butchered

Checked the entire Loom resistance yesterday and installed Reb bullet ecu, runs like a new one and everything works

Diagnosis of an electrical is sooo difficult you need patience some knowledge a lots of forum help saved, this saved me from towing her to a wreckers
