My indicator flasher relay failed. Symptom was all indicator lights failed on the passenger side.
This was confirmed by exchanging the flasher unit from my other car.
After disassembly and testing, I found both relays in the unit were working, so cleaned the contacts and soldered connections.
This cured the problem, although I am still looking for a replacement.
To cut to the chase, A new genuine part ( IMASEN Flasher Unit No. 3211-167-320 ) is $120 after neg, a used relay from a south west Sydney wrecker was $150, say no more. A used unit from the US is about A$65 including freight.
My question, Tridon produce a 7 pin relay flasher unit ( FET21 ) that they indicate is suitable for NA mx5's. Has anyone personal experience for the use of this unit. This unit is about A$65 delivered.
