DIN slot gauge holder

Postby track_addict » Sat Jul 16, 2016 10:43 pm

Trying to find a DIN slot gauge holder but for two gauges, not three. Plenty on ebay which are triple gauge holders. The only double gauge holders I've found are for VW's. Thompson do a double (http://www.thompson-automotive.com/cata ... 029659.htm) but I'd like one sooner rather than later. Does anyone know of a local place or of another place I should be looking?

Thanks.

I'd just buy a blank plate and a 52mm hole saw.

Or just cut out a sheet of alu/steel and cut it to shape etc.

A single DIN gauge holder is generic, it may be listed for a model (such as VW) but the slot is the same size.

MX5Parts (UK) does this one: http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/instrument-holder-mazda-mk2-25-hole-p-1828.html

I've found their shipping to be very fast, usually faster than buying from Interstate!

I really don't want to spend the time making one. I have more important jobs on the car to focus on.

Kev. Is this the one you have? It says its designed to go underneath the stereo, I plan to use it on top. If its the one you have, yours is mounted ontop IIRC? No issues then?

Yeah I have the three gauge panel but it's the same one from them. From memory I can't recall any issues fitting it at the top. I seem to recall that if the head unit is removed the gauge panel will slip down a bit, but once all in place it's held there no problem.

Great. Thanks mate. Will order one and see how I go. I'll let you know when my car is done and we'll go for a spin.
