Hey so I have a NB8B 2001 model and I want to upgrade the headlights (they don't put out enough light) they are the projector lights so I want to go HID, what kit do people here in Aus run? any feedback on particular kits?

Halogen bulbs gradually emit less and less light as they age. Try a fresh set of Philips Vision Plus bulbs before going HIDs. The difference in brightness is impressive.
Having said that, I came across a deal I couldn't resist on a HID low beam kit with all Philips hardware 5 years ago and it hasn't skipped a beat in my NB8B.

I also prefer the look of HID, do you know which kit you got? was it a true direct plug and play?

Yes was direct plug and play. The hardest part of the install is to find where & how to mount the ballasts.
It's a Philips 4300K 9006 HB4 HID kit. Came in a big box which looked like this:

Thanks for the help mate, picked up a set yesterday, yet to install them but they look promising, also picked up a set for the fog lights too as a bulb has been blown there for a while but i have never used them, hopefully they spread some light down the sides of the roads for nighttime mountain runs!

Here we go again....
You will be getting a lot of flashes from other road users, HID's are not designed for the stock NB8B headlights. the projector bowl is completely different, you will find that you won't be producing that much more light spread, but you'll be blinding the hell out of other road users.
Also HID for fog lights, don't do it!
Ive done a full proper HID conversion in my NC, the difference between a HID setup and Halogen setup is amazing. Pictures below of both setups. Luckily the RX8 HID setup bolted straight into the NC housing.
Halogen on the left and HID on the right

The first poster already made up his mind. But the Projector lights i.e. low beam are very good on the P2- nothing wrong at all. If people have problem seeing then its maybe a sign for optical specs. I have the same model and never tempted to change to HID it simply is not required. Fog lights are exactly what they described as i.e. for fog- useless for anything else. As explained before unless you are virtually travelling at jogging speed then anything you see in front you run over- the low beam picks the items in front well before a fog lamp. Philips certainly made excellent products ( well they did ) and know a lot about lighting but if these are merely light sources then the focal length may not suit the projector unit.
Reggie apparently lifted a full RX8 light unit i.e. projector / HID designed to work. I understand that on the NC there was an option for HID- I wonder if that is available for our market- never seen a post about it.
