Pioneer woofer in NC2

My NC2 has the " all highs, no lows , must be Bose" stereo fitted. After looking for a subwoofer to fit under or behind the seats I came across a Pioneer WX210A power sub woofer which fits quite nicely between the seats, just under the rear speakers. It even has black and silver trim which does not look out of place.

I didn't expect it to be an excellent outcome, but was surprised at how it actually fills out the bass when the low pass filter is set to about 80 Hz. The sound is still far from perfect but is acceptable considering the room available. I tapped into the door woofers, as the rear speakers have a high pass filter which seems to be fixed at about 400Hz so the Bose amplifier doesn't output any bass at all, just mids and highs. The same goes for all the other speakers except the 8 " door woofers which are fed frequencies up to about 400 Hz. I think that's how Bose keep their costs down.

The new woofer is held in place with a Velcro strip along the bottom edge and another behind and centre of woofer. It easily releases at the top to allow limited access to open the storage bin to reach the filler pull cable. All the cables are hidden away behind trim panels and connect at the rear of the woofer, so no cables to be seen.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I reckon the sound has improved from a 5 to a good 7 or 8 now.

That looks like it fits in there quite snugly. Like it was designed for there.

Will velcro hold it though in an emergency/hard stop?

It seems to be quite solid, the Velcro on the bottom rear edge stops it sliding forward and the strip at the rear keeps it from falling over. It is held snugly by the seats too. It takes quite a bit of force to release it at the top to get to the storage box.

If it ever let go in a head on collision, the connecting cable would stop it going too far.
