OBII protocol for NC fault code reader

Postby bm49 » Tue May 05, 2015 4:28 pm

I recently had a Check Engine warning appear on my 2005 NC during a race meeting so I would like to read the fault code. As it would be useful to have a code reader in my tool box at race meetings I intend to buy one but notice that online ads usually specify which OBDII protocols that their scanners can or can't read. Can anyone help me with details of the protocol used in early NC''s. :D

The NC uses the CAN protocol also accessible through the OBD2 plug.

My NB8B is cranking but doesn't start so i'm looking into using the OBD2 to get the diagnostic code. The NB8B uses the ISO9141/2 protocol.
