learning what not to do.....Megasquirt 3

Hi Everybody,
I have an NB8A with a MS3 and ITB.
Was always running a startup tune since I got it a month ago, and my "refining" the tune/dashboard/firmware (update to 1.3.2a) has caused boiling and now no spark. Would the lack of spark be from changing "Tools" settings?
I did play with a bunch of things, so can't really relay clearly the sequence. I did revert to firmware 1.2.4, and the original tune, but I may have damaged the tune too.
If I can get it running ok for this Sunday's driving school, that would be great as a first base, then proper settings/tuning for smoother running and idle bypass valve next.
Would appreciate any assistance available, thanks.

Further to my previous note, I checked all fuses, all good.
Then I connected the original(?) ECU and it runs, sluggish as it did with that ECU when I tried it weeks ago. The Tacho works again now too!
Would appreciate any assistance available, thanks.

So are you seeing rpm when cranking?

Hi again,
I'm in Perth, Rivervale.
No RPM showing on Tacho or Realtime view while cranking using MS3, Tacho and motor work using Mazda ECU.
Thanks, Derek.

Hi Everyone,
I've copied my questions to the Megasquirt owner's thread, where it should have been started, Thanks, D.

This is a typical firmware upgrade snafu.

You need to go and redefine all your inputs. You have lost CLT/fan trigger and your ignition trigger. You may have lost others too and these will become apparent when you go in and check carefully. You also probably need to redo base timing

This is why you always save your tune before a firmware upgrade. I have previously had to redo this all manually after a firmware upgrade, takes hours and is a major PITA.

Thanks Zossy1,
I have tacho at cranking, and a spark, yet engine won't quite run. I changed Cam Input from 'MS3X Cam In' to 'Map Sensor'.
Should I be 'Going High' or 'Going Low'? I've never done any of this setup before, did you have to guess it all too, or is there a chart for these cars to set from?
Plugging away, D.

Wrong- ms3 firmware update doesn't lose config or sensor settings. Also, you'd have to be doing it wrong pretty badly to not have a copy of the tune when you next connect TunerStudio

If you're using ms3 then we can't help with some settings as it depends how you wired it. Cam input is whatever you wired it to...??

Try here for *some* settings https://www.diyautotune.com/diypnp/apps ... bp-mt.html

Thanks for your suggestions, Colin (a club member) spent a bit of time assisting me out of my confusion, and the car is running again. I'll get it put on a dyno soon, any ideas which shops already know Megasquirt? Thanks again, D.
