Steering wheel help

Postby Tezza » Mon May 19, 2014 6:04 pm

Hi i have nb8b and my steering wheel is the stock one with the air bag. However my cruise control box is mounted on the steering wheel. Now i want to remove this steering wheel and put in an after market one. How would i remount my cruise control box and how do i bypass the airbag indicator light that would go on once i remove my stock one. Thanks

You will need a boss kit.

all round it looks like a really bad idea if you end up without an airbag or one where there is any question of it working as designed. My guess is that it will not be legal to change the wheel and it would be sensible to check the regulation. Changing the wheel might void Insurance.

It's illegal to change the wheel it sadly. I had my heart set on it too. You could do it but getting pulled over could get you defected. And as Morlock pointed out it could have insurance ramifications. Buyer beware.
