Looking for help setting up MSPNP [VIC]
Hey everyone, I've recently gotten/installed a MSPNP2 into my 1990 NA.
Engine is bone stock, only difference is high flow cat and 2.5" exhaust.
Looking for someone to come help me setup the MS and hopefully give me some tips in tuning, will reimburse for time spent.
I want to learn, but I don't want to change or do anything without knowing what it does (in fear of something going wrong), so I'm hoping someone can lend me a hand in that department.

Okay, so the base map has been loaded, and the base timing has been set. I'm guessing I'm now onto the tuning stage, and that's where I'm stuck, what exactly do I do in the tuning stage?

So does the car start and idle ok? If so, see if you can provide a link of a log file to download of it starting and idling for 30 seconds or more.
The tuning part requires a correctly calibrated O2 wide band sensor installed and I'd also like to know more about the engine - stock, modified, what changes so that I know the injectors used etc.
Finally, did you buy a registered version of TunerStudio? If so, once you've got an AFR table correctly defined, and the O2 sensor is working, you just basically go for a drive with the VE Analyser Live running and it will self tune.
Any problems just provide a download link to your Tune file MSQ and the log file MSL.

It starts and idles around 1k, I'll get one for you soon.
Engine is stock, only thing different is a 2.5" 200cpsi cat and cat back.
Have bought tunerstudio.

Finally got round to getting everything set up, the O2 sensor died and had to wait for a replacement.
This is the current tune, can people take a look at it and tell me what they think?

I have found though that as I continue to autotune it, the more the ve tables change, the more erratic the car becomes, could there be a setting that I may have incorrectly checked or changed?

Just to confirm, are you using a WIDEBAND oxygen sensor, and not the standard NARROWBAND O2 sensor?
If you do have the wideband installed, make sure the AFR numbers on the wideband gauge match the ones in Tunerstudio.
Having these incorrect can cause issues.

If you have an LC-2 then you will struggle to get the Gauge and ECU to see the same values. Both items have a different GND and as a result will see the voltage differential (between sensor and GND) differently. I could explain why, but I think this would be off topic.
I'm unsure how the VE table is changing a lot - are you saying that you initially tuned the table from the gauge and now that you feel it is correct, you've switched to the AutoTune and you are now seeing a difference? If so, then I guess there is nothing to be done about that, you are essentially tuning from two (2) different gauges that are always going to tell you a difference.
One possible option is that you've not calibrated the AFR table (essentially have the ECU translate the lambda sensor in the O2 to the correct AFR values). You need to tell tunerstudio what kind of wideband signal to expect. Under tools, calibrate AFR table, you need to choose the sensor that would match the signal your wideband is sending out. You also need to make sure your wideband has the same ground as your ECU so they are referencing the same point, but if using a built-in gauge and controller, that's pretty impossible and is why I never recommend those types if asked.

Hey G, I"ve only tuned the basemap manually for the idle amd that was through tunerstudios afr reading, this was completed when I had already calibrated tunerstudio to read the lc-2's signal. Other than that the basemap remains unchanged begore I run autotune. During autotune, it'll lower the ve values and make the car run lean, and nowhere near the afr targets.

I had a look a the log file Capture Date: Mon Jun 16 14:36:15 EST 2014 ~ 5MB in size.
Almost all of the log is filled with the AFR at around 11 or lower (sometimes as low as 7!!!) So not sure if you are saying this is correct or not, but no way would the engine be running ok with the VE table that out of whack.
So either the AFR is wrong in TunerStudio (and the ECU) or the O2 sensor isn't calibrated.
AFR Target is constantly at 14 so again, the AFR table in use is either wrong or not reflective of what you should be trying to target.
Remember that TunerStudio VEAL will aim to change the VE tables to match an AFR that is presented in the AFR Table based on the readings from the O2 sensor.
So make sure all those elements are correct.
