Hi guys, I got a HKS 5 points grounding kit would like to install on my NB8B. I know many of you would say it is useless, but I would like to use it as a engine dress up and try to get to know my car during the installation. However, can you anyone tell me how can I install the grounding kit when the battery is at the boot? Also which 5 points should the grounding cable connect to? Please give me some instruction, thank you.

Don't worry about the battery, your factory earth if clean and tight from your battery is sufficient.

Just do the rest as per the instructions.

I do not even know what a grounding kit is and what its supposed to do. You would expect that there are instructions from the seller/ maker.

Yep you could introduce ground loops as well which would actually make things worse.

You suprise me Mr M, Google is your friend.
I built a grounding system for a small capacity Japanese motorcycle that showed measurable improvements in ignition performance especially with the engine under load. Earth loops are a nightmare and will upset sound systems and ECU's, beware!

basically you would have to run a ground cable from the negative battery terminal in the boot, under the car (like the stock wires) and up into the engine bay, where you then split the wire with the HKS multi-termial off to the various engine components.

In a nutshell Mr M, it is about using heavier cable to reduce voltage drop, by using the cable over unreliable and inaccurate structural earths (and constantly stressed conections) the potential of the entire electrical system is improved greatly. People may say that it is 'Snake oil' but the same things were said of Silicone leads, LED's, Halogen charged lamps and so on.

P.S. I purchased some very high end LED Parking/ Stop Lamp (360 deg RED output rated and very well constructed) inserts today, I will post some details shortly.

I did this in my red NB, ran some decent sized cable from the negative on the battery out the bottom to of the boot and along the PPF to the engine bay.

In my old integra, i done this and did actually see a difference in starting. I used 0 GAUGE wire. Of course in my case, battery was in the front unlike the MX5.

I'd do it, why not if you already bought it? It's not like u lose speed lol. And they aren't really easy to sell. I doubt you will see a difference, unless you're getting into the high power wattage sound systems which im sure some of u know, when the bass drops, your lights dim lol. Earth kits help that I HAVE TESTED it and seen it myself!
