Adaptronic and AFM/MAF delete

Hey all,

Yes I know I could ask this question on the Adaptronic Forum and I know Andy will probably respond in his usual fast and friendly manner, however I thought it might be handy for other MX-5 Adaptronic users to reference.

So I now have a 2nd hand e420c Ecu, with the Adaptronic 94-95 plug n play loom. It has a 3 bar map sensor wired into the PnP loom, which should replace the MAF/AFM in my '94. Can I just remove the MAF/AFM or do I need to do any further wiring, or other stuff?

Note that I am installing the ECU before I fit any of the other goodies, so I will using a base '94 map and the only other change will (hopefully) be the MF/AFM delete.

J.

Yep, it's not used so can be eliminated.

- I deleted mine (see http://mx5cartalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=41091&start=196).

I cut the MAF plug off, shrink-wrapped the wires and tucked them out of the way into my wiring harness loom.

NBs have a separate air temp sensor to the MAF sensor.

Do NAs really integrate them?

Yes, hence needing a GM AIT + bung for AFM removal.

So, as I have a NA I need to get a Air temp sensor, and bung to fit the temp sensor into the piping before the intake manifold?

Makes sense as I had to the same thing when I had a Link ECU, with FM chip.
