way-ward advance!

Hi,

I noticed something peculiar the other day whilst playing with the coolant temp enrichment with my ecu, so I took some logs and this is what I found.

So it turns out my ignition advance changes randomly at idle - haven't looked as any dynamic logs yet.

I checked all the compensations and couldn't find anything to suggest why it is changing. I have wired in a new connector for the CAS as the wires at the base of the other one were fk'd to say the least and tried my CAS out of my B6 engine ([plug]that is still for sale - see sig[/plug]) and it is still happening.

Anyone got any idea's as to what might be causing this? I am going to try and get a hold of an oscilloscope to see if i can see what the CAS tigger and home voltages are doing. Or is this normal and i should just not worry about it? The ecu is a haltech e6x - contemplating buying a new ecu for shits and giggles but not convinced on an MS and I am feeling exceptionally cheap.

thats a common thing in ecus to use variable spark for idle control

Yeah - i thought it might be that but the Idle control is off.
