Hey guys, I have been wanting to swap the stock manual antenna for something shorter and bought one from Rev9. The problem I am having is the old antenna wire has the screw in it (meaning the actual antenna screwed into it) but the new one I received also has a 'screw' which leaves me with no way to install it.
Messages back and forth from Rev9 say that what I need is one of these: http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/aerial-base-m ... -1405.html
Now the real question I want to ask is if I purchased one of these would it be a straight forward fit? as the old wire has a different base to it I have a feeling they won't go together like a puzzle piece.
Lastly, I do have the option of returning it and receiving my money back; if I were to do this does anyone know of an antenna that is a simple screw in/out?
I can supply pictures once at home if needed
Mike

Re: NB antenna
Hi MadMikey
I fitted a stubby to my NB8A in the way you describe. I got the stubby from MX5Parts not rev9, but same difference.
You do need the manual base. Once you have that (and the adapter: http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/stubby-aerial ... -1648.html), the job is super easy. Everything swaps over. I'm useless with these sorts of things and it took my 5 minutes, no problems. Didn't even need a guide
There is no way to 'screw in/screw out' using the Australian stock antenna mount (the electric one).

Re: NB antenna
Did you also have a stock manual antenna?
Sorry about the massive picture but as you can see the new antenna is on the right and the radio base is on the left, was that how yours was?
Thanks,
Mike

Re: NB antenna
I thought all AU cars had the electric guy? This one:
http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/aerial-electr ... p-861.html
My process was to buy the adapter, buy the manual base and the stubby. Unscrew the electric mast (as linked above) and put in the manual base, the adapter and the stubby on top.
I don't recognise the thing in your photo.

Re: NB antenna
My antenna looks like this: http://imgc.classistatic.com/cps/blnc/1 ... ae_20.jpeg
It's very simple and screws right into the screw shown before I guess what I'm after is another antenna that goes in similar that doesn't require modifications, or if modifications are needed I want to be pointed in the right direction.
Thanks anyway Cognitive
