Can't remove my six cd in dash HU

Hi guys,

Just trying to get my stock indash six cd changer headunit out so I can hook up a GROM Audio AUX/iPod adaptor, so far having no luck getting the actual headunit out! I've tried this guide:

http://www.miata.net/garage/nbaudio/ind ... 001Removal

and this video:

Neither seem to work, it seems to be wedged in there and the coat hangers I've stuck in there just don't seem to do anything and it doesn't budge! The small screw driver method yields the same results. I can't get any higher res pics of the clips to see how they work, any tips?

Have you managed to remove it?

I have the U shaped removal tools & due to a niggling fault I've removed my HU many times.
So can show you how if you want, I'm in Parra or Lane Cove.

Cheers, Rob

I was able to attach a mp3 adapter on my NC without removing the head unit. I just removed the glove box and side panel and I was able to reach behind and push the plug in. I'm not sure if it's the same for the NB.

Thanks guys, I did manage to get it out using a screw driver method (slotting it into the holes under the silver trim and not the tiny plastic strips on either side).

It was stuck in quite tight but managed to get it out with a few nudges. Got the GROM audio adaptor plugged in and all is sweet :D.
