NB seatbelt warning light disconnect..

Took out the seats (new covers) and found the driver's side has a cable with a white connector under the seat front which I had to undo. It's the seatbelt warning reminder .Thought ...why not leave it undone? 
I don't need the warning ....seems to have removed the dash dial icon warning ok, but could there be other factors in doing this?
It's an Oct. 2002 series 3...
