Hey i found a thousand posts about it on the miata.net forum but they all just say connect the pins .. together with a paper clip theres like 20 PINS there! lol

Is there a simple way someone can explain to me how to run a quick self ecu check i believe it has something to do with checking the engine light etc..

Found this... http://www.miata.net/garage/faultcodes.html

After warming/running, your stop, then short GND and TEN and then turn the car on to ignition only. The "CHECK ENGINE" light flashes to report the code.

Simple enough really....

Since yours has ODBII just find someone with an ODBII reader.

These are very cool but the iphone software is a little expensive

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Except we didn't get a check engine light :D

You need to hook up an LED with current limiting resistor between B+ (straight from the battery, so will source lots of current if you wire it up wrong)and the FEN pin in the diagnostic box.

Procedure explained well here : http://www.miata.net/garage/Engine_Diagnostics.html
