just wondering if all 99' nb's came with central locking or not?
because mine doesn't work at all.
So either it doesn't have it or it's broken. But i wouldn't have a clue how to check.
Can anyone tell me what i should look for inside the door to see if i have central locking or not?
and if all 99's came with central locking, is there any common problem that could cause this and where i could find that?
thx,
Denis

My 99 came with central locking and immobliser.

Fairly certain that central locking is standard but immobliser might not be.

Can't think of any common problems - I hope some wise owl out there can assist with your issue though.

If you sit in the car, and manually lock the driver's side door, and the passenger side door also locks, you can haz central locking.

Similarly, unlocking the driver's side door should unlock the passenger side door.

If it does that, but you are missing the remote fob, perhaps you don't have remote locking.

Pretty sure all the NBs had central locking., but remotes & alarm was an option.

If you've got a remote and it doesn't work, you've probably stolen my car. :p

yep, central locking was standard to my knowledge. (no remote, just lock the driver's door, the passenger locks too)

Immobiliser was as well.

i dont have remote
and wen i manually lock driver's side door from inside or from outside with the key, it doesn't affect the passenger side at all..
so to lock the car, i gotta either wait for the passenger to get out, then lock it from inside, then get out and lock mine from outside.
or lock mine from outside, then walk around and lock the passenger from outside.
fail hahaha

sounds like either the passenger\s actuator has died, or the driver's sender thingy has.

auto electrician should be able to check them both. if they're stuffed, not big deal, central locking kits (aftermarket) are only $50 or so anyway. (you'll need to check they fit an MX5)
