Head light Problems

Iv just bought an Mx5 (NA) and it has a slight problem with the headlights. They work fine on low beam but turn off when I try to put them on to highbeam, was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and if there is a known solution for this.

Had the same problem & the fix was new globes, even though all the filaments were intact. Only thing out of the ordinary was the coating on the highbeam filament of each globe was peeling - my guess is this was enough to prevent a circuit being made or for filament to heat up sufficiently.
