I've talked about these before and I know what they are now and finally found a store that sells them.. Only to find out they're sold out.
So does anyone on this forum have a set of RS Active headlamps (aside from Jeo lol)? WHere did you buy them, and where can I obtain them?
I've been wanting to build my own for some time but I've finally realised my electrical knowledge is severely lacking and I don't have the means to do it myself.
What is the lighting like? I'd prefer to see a sight that stocks these as a kit etc with everything in it than buy off the forum. Not because i don't trust you lot or anythingLOL!!!!! Far from it, everything on my car has come off this forum second hand and it runs like a dream! Just that for once I'd like to treat myself to something new. my christmas present XD

What's the name of the store that is out of stock where you can normally get them?

Did the RS Active headlights come with different types of lenses?
I thought the RS Active low profile lights had two bulbs (high & low beams), as shown on the photo below.
But the one from the Rev9 link above only has one bulb per headlight.

They do look similar to the NSX headlights. In fact I read somewhere that someone in the US has used the NSX headlights as the lens for a low profile conversion. The main difference between the two that I can see is that the NSX seems to have projector style high beam, unlike the RS Active one which are both reflector type.
Here's the previous thread on low profile headlights -

The link to RS active uses a rectangular insert which will take an H4 bulb which covers low and high beam. I would say this is the same insert used on the local Ford Capri ( H4). A US sourced insert is also likely not to suit driving on the left as the cut off is the opposite. You would be able to buy inserts locally. Performance on rectangular inserts is not as good as 7" rounds but of course this exercise is about style. In theory projectors may be very good- depends on set up and design for our traffic. Checking a local using this system would be good.

But if the source is from Japan, it should be alright. So long it's not the US export version you buy.

I priced up a set direct from RS Active in Japan a few years ago. Was about $2k Australian to get them landed with the exchange rate back then.

I have a set in my car. The car came with them though.

I love them!
What is the lighting like?
They actually light the road better than the projectors in my Skyline. They're great.
