remote central doesn't always work??

Postby Mr nanotech » Mon Oct 25, 2010 5:21 pm

Hey just a quickie before I head to work. My 1990 na6 has remote central and immobilizer. The thing is, when I lock my car.. Occasionally only the immobilizer comes on but the doors don't lock. I'm standing there hitting the buttons over and over and I can only control the immobilizer but still the doors won't lock.
The thing is 9/10 times it works as normal so I'm not too worried though I think it's getting a little more frequent.

At first I thought it was the battery in the button but if it can turn on the immobilizer it obviously has enough power in it to communicate with the car so you'd assume the doors would lock too seeing as the immobilizer can still be turned off and on at will using the same remote (the lock button does both).

Someone please help me :frown: I don't want people to go through my car in the work carpark!!!

that's exactly the problem I've been having with my car in the last month...

Does the central locking work when you use the key? In my case, it does, so I'm thinking it is something to do with the actuator or actuator rod (why? because I noted something rattling in the last month, probably from those b-road drives).

Have to pull the door apart to check this, so haven't bothered

Good luck, and keep us updated on how you go...

I'll give it a go on Friday mate if not the weekend. Right now I lack the tools here so have to borrow my brothers. I have stuff here but the garage is so full of crap it's near impossible to walk in, massive clean out next week. But I digress, I'll ask at the meet up on Thursday as well, there are a few NA's there so one might know!!
