So I ran to the toilet today with my car still on and my gf in it and I find that one of the headlights it blown :( Not the high beam though YAY!

Now, as far as replacing, I'm under the impression these are sealed units, that if its blown I need a new headlight???

Pretty sure a NA8 has H4 globes - I know both of mine do.

Baldas is right. Gotta undo the plastic shield then the ring with the three screws, pop the headlight out, undo clip and take out globe. I did it in about 15mins for both. Have Fun :D

O cool. I've taken out the semicircular reflector before so thats fine. I just had a vague recollection that it was a completely sealed unit..*phew*

if it were a sealed beam ( sbu) these are fully sealed and made of glass and replacement is a very simple process. A semi sealed unit comprises a metal reflector and a glass lense glued to it with a replaceable bulb ( QH)- these units are commonly known as inserts. The latter set up can tend to deteriorate quicker than a sbu simply because they are sealed with a boot which breathes - an sbu is fully sealed. A semi sealed unit of good manufacture has better light performance than an sbu and an sbu is in most instances is not QH. I know sbu's were fitted to MX5's certainly for USA but not sure if Au got the same spec.

yup =D Did it today, took about 10 minutes. Crisis averted :P I just had the assumption a Sealed Beam Unit was like ALL sealed and you needed to get a new unit, which I thought was utterly stupid :S
