iPhone + NC Bose audio solution?

Have you thought about buying an ipod as a workaround? Might be a cheaper/easier option. You can usually pick up a nano second hand for not too much.

my guess, and it is an uneducated guess, is that the Bose system doesnt give the right voltage for charging the iphone and simply doesnt like to play either.

as suggested, an ipod nano can be had for an easy solution.

I would also look into changing the ipod connector for a standard aux connector that would allow any mp3 player to work. That should be a cheap solution too and involve unplugging the existing cord from the back of the head unit and plugging in a new one. Still wont charge your phone but will only use the headphone jack therefore leaving scope for a ciggie lighter type charger if needed. Downside is that it isnt using the quality of the phone to its fullest as it is only using the headphone jack to output the sound. Perfectly fine for most of us and more than enough for podcasts but isnt being the best it can be.
