Jaycar Kits - Need info

Hey guys, I recently tried my hand at putting together a small kit from jaycar just to see if my rusty soldering skills were up to standard to handle something like the DFA or maybe even a megasqurt.

lol i know, very simple, but I think I pulled it off pretty good so I have ordered my self one of their DFA kits to get my teeth into.

What I am really after is info on their WBO2 controller? http://jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=KC5486&CATID=25&form=CAT&SUBCATID=347 and its accompanying digital display.

Has anyone here used one? built one? in the blurb about this it says it is made to be used with a Bosch LSU4.2 sensor. Does anyone have experience with these sensors? I have read that they are very accurate but perhaps a tad slow?

http://wbo2.com/lsu/sensors.htm The sensors are listed here for a reasonable price, I am hoping to price one a little cheaper from Bursons through our work trade account.

Also http://jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=KC5442&CATID=25&form=CAT&SUBCATID=347 The Programmable High Energy Ignition System, Does anyone know much about this? I have this idea that I want to put COP's in, mostly for sh*ts and giggles but I do plan to go FI one day and by what it lists it might help with that...in a limited way...

I have googled to find more info on these kits, but there is almost nothing out there, cant find instructions and there is very little feed back from people who have built and used them...

Or of course, are these kits a complete waste of time for a roadster and I should just be getting a MS to build :)

Cheers
MB

'Fatty' (James) has knowledge & experience of some of the Jaycar kits - I believe he was happy with them for what they were, but acknowledged they had limitations. If you've got the soldering skills, some electronics knowledge, & the motivation, I think the MS is the wtg from a headroom perspective.

The DFA/Mixture display combo is not at all bad for the money. I got a measured 9kw out of it with butt tuning on the on/off ramps. It's fiddly, but you learn a lot. I'd say the gains from the ignition module are much lower.

around $200 landed for a wideband, but if you're just playing with the DFA, it may not be necessary.
if you're going to megasquirt however, I'd recommend it (it will only be $30 on top of building your own and it's programmable).
