I have a rather urgent issue I would like to get sorted tonight. The handbrake warning light has flickered on/off over the last couple of days. Now it is permanently on. I have vehicle inspection tomorrow and need to get it sorted asap. I've looked at the handbrake mechanism where the wire leads to the switch and it is all working 100%. I removed the handbrake mechanism completely just to make sure and there is nothing wrong with it. Even when the wire is disconnected, it stays on.
What could be the cause? It's almost like something has come loose causing it to flicker and then stay on. Is there are fuse for the handbrake wiring which could have gone? I had a look at the fuse box but found nothing. (everything else in the cabin works perfectly)
Thoughts?
Cheers,
Jimmy.

Yeah, the usual fault is that the master cylinder reservoir is empty, due to a leak somewhere.
