hey all,
i have a small 6.5" sub that sits in the cavity of the boot in my NA. just wondering if anyone has worked out a way of dampening the sound such that the boot lid won't rattle?
isn't much of a problem when i'm driving with the music way up but it is when i'm idle.
i'm thinking of getting some dynamat or equivalent stuff to pad the inside of the boot lid? (although i don't want to go and find it doesn't work)
has anyone got a different and perhaps cheaper solution?
cheers

or remove it...
I guess the first simple thing to check would be the boot latch its self to see if it is allowing any movement that could cause vibration.
There are two tension wires that run along the back of the boot, when mine worked there way loose I had a horrible rattle/vibration over bumps. Perhaps check they are securely clipped in too.

Dynamat worked on the old girl for all sound competitions during her show days. It definitely worked as we were pumping some serious power out of the Xtant amp running the Kicker sub. No rattle but you can not stop all the vibrations.doogle wrote:hey all,

I had a similar problem and fixed it by adjusting the boot lid to close harder, and I also put a few little rubber pads on either side of the boot opening so the boot lid had to contact them to close.
While the boot now needs a good smack to close, the vibrations are gone.
