This is my "second generation" windblocker which I designed primarily for my Style Bar and my new Canvas Top. Anyone who has fitted a style bar knows that the standard windblocker no longer works as it used to and if you have fitted some brands of aftermarket tops, you will find that the top may no longer lay down flat without removal of the OEM windblocker ..... so what does one do?
Secondly, I prefer the all around balanced sound with the addition of two rear speakers .. mmmm SO MUCH BETTER!

This is the test fit - I used MDF from your local hardware at $16 per sheet, 2 X 4 inch speakers and Black speaker carpet from Jaycar - approx $35.

You may also notice that I have used a Carbon Fibre film for the area around the speakers.

This is the finished look with exposed speakers, I am going to paint the speaker covers but not sure if I want to put them on ...

This is the rear view, it sits neatly under the style bar and sounds just perfect!

Now on to the next project, I have had some custom red leather inserts made up for the NB8B door trims along with leather gear and handbrake boots .....

I like. As in enough that I'm now considering doing it myself...

One thought though, are the speakers sitting in a sealed box? Most smaller car speakers are designed to sit in a door or in a parcel shelf where they have very little back pressure. Putting them in a sealed enclosure does weird things to the sound.

I saw the car yesterday, in the flesh, and I have to say it is looking really good.

You've done a great job of the speakers and the interior looks terrific with the NC seats and other bits you've added MX5 Chic.

Thanks Guys :D
If you look at the photo's you will see a what appears as a box on the rear of the windblocker, that allows extra depth for for the speaker magnets BUT also acts as a speaker box complete with ports at the rear. One thing which most of you would already know is to construct an airtight seal between both speakers. Sound quality is good and does a great job of balancing the sound.
Added some of those famous "Benny's Boots" today and will be fitting the NB8B door trims with matching red leather inserts in coming days.
