Hey guys,

Well I got pretty bored today at home, so I decided to try out the sleepy eye mod. It was posted a few days back in this thread..

Thread: http://mx5cartalk.com/phpBB-3.0.2/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=35924

It took me about 45minutes to do, and cost me about $10 all up.

Here are the results...

I've never been a fan of lazy eyes, but I've got to say, I don't mind that at all.

Looks good Ryan

You could just about use them as parking lights and replace the parkers with the airvent/indicator combos ..... best of both worlds 8)

Yeah same here I was never a fan, but I "was" pretty bored remember  . Ill only use them for photo days etc. If you are interested Darrin I can do it to your beast (no homo). Takes no time at all, and you will be cool.....like me! Image

Actually, that's not a bad idea Baz. I was thinking of taking out the park lights to aid in cooling.

Ryan, are you saying it's switchable?

I like it even more now. :D

Yeah man, the switch basically just cuts the power to the motors while going up or down. Then when you want to turn the sleepy eyes off you just flick the switch so that the motors get power again. Unless you flick the switch they just work like they are meant to... 8)

I got myself a black $2.50 on/off switch from Jaycar, and mounted it in the plastic blank part next to your left drivers leg.

Here's a pic.

I'm going to buy some indicators to put in the hole. Maybe some Harley Davidson bullets or the like so as to not look so ghetto.

I'll take you up on the offer Ryan.

My car came with a Pivot headlight controller installed.
I used to leave the headlights up about 30mm as it seemed to aid cold air to the air filter but it made no difference to the coolant temp.
After a while I got sick of the car looking like the headlights where broken and the extra attention it caused.
Good way to kill a couple of hours though Ryan

I love the car and the fantastic condition it is in - if you did not know better you could be forgiven for thinking it was a brand new car.
The sleepy eye lights gives the car a sleek look.
