indicators no go but hazards ok

Postby SteveS1 » Mon Dec 22, 2008 7:04 pm

hi all. recently stripped out alot of wiring (old alarm) and now found that now the indicators don't work, and the pop up head lights pop up but don't pop down. The hazards are OK.

Now overall I thought this was not a bad result, after stripping the wiring, because the car still started :D

Do these symptons indicate something obvious? Fuses seem OK.

cheers

was the previous alarm hooked up the the indicators or hazards. Coz this could mean a bridge was used to tap into the indicators and when removed broke the circuit.

the alarm wiring was like a virus - it went through everything, including the indicators, windows etc

i patched up the obvious breaks, but have missed something. wondered if the issues were connected, or if they were related to the flasher & relay.

might get the auto elec to have a look at in the new year.

Just be careful, if u know him its ok, but they have a funny way of dicking you for money in terms of parts that are not required e.g 300 dollar window motor when it actually worked. If the hazards work i dont see how it is a relay thing.. ?
