Replacing battery in car alarm

Postby KAM » Thu Oct 30, 2008 10:54 am

When I disconected the battery in my NB8B last night without disabling the alarm it activated as it should but the volume is low and the siren sounded like the battery was nearly flat.

Has anyone replaced the battery in the alarm for a NB8B :?:
Can it be done DIY :?:

Replacing battery in car alarm

Thanks Alex

Pulled my siren apart tonight and found the offending battery.
Measures 6.67V but drops to 3.2V when the alarm is activated so its close to dead.
The one in my NB8B factory upgrade alarm is 6V 80mA made by GP part no GP80BVH x5
Spent ages trying to find one on the net, should have looked here and seen your post first.
I will remove it and take it to Batteries and More to see if they can make one up.

Regards
Kym
