Hi all,
I'd like to connect an Ipod to my NC so that I can use the audio controls on the steering wheel.
I know this can be done by a dealer but I'd like to know if there is aDIY option.
Thanks for your help,
Rockitman

Mazda and Audiolink make ipod adapters. The Audiolink version is much less expensive. There is some info to get you started here http://www.mx-5.com/Community/forums/ShowThread.aspx?PostID=6195.

Thanks for your help.
I get the picture now. Doesn't look too hard.
I'll shop around to find the best deal on an adapter.
By the way, I drove up from Sydney to visit a friend in Tweed Heads earlier this year and we went for a drive up to Mt Tamborine. Never been there before. It was a pretty good drive except for those damned tourists.

Fitted my ipod adaptor this morning.
For those that don't know, this is how I did it. (the adaptor is Mazda original equipment)
1) Remove glovebox.
2) Unplug aerial.
3) Straighten out adaptor lead.
4 )Bend adaptor plug 90 degrees to lead
5) Slide lead in behind head unit so that plug is adjacent to adaptor socket.
6) With fingers push plug into socket.
7) Done!
Then spend an hour lifting trim and carpet so as to hide integration unit in passenger footwell .
Here is a photo of the result.
