Starting/electrical issue

Hey all,
My car has been sitting for the last 4 days, and it has previously sat for longer, anyway, ive never had any electric issues until today. At first I thought the alarm was playing up, as it would beep twice as usual to let me know it was unarmed, however the lights would not flash like usual. So I thought, disable the alarm, did it, car still wont start. There is a click coming from around the alternator I guess. CD player wont work, when I turn the hazzards on, they are very very faint. The button to pop the headlights up, when pressed, first light comes out slowly, then the second. I though maybe the battery went flat, put it on the charger and seems to have heaps of juice in it...but leaving to charge just in case. Anyone got any other ideas to what may be the problem here? Fuses in engine bay, checked. Its weird that from absolutely no issues previously, now it just wont even turn :(
Please help ;)
Cheers

If the battery is not flat then it is probably a bad connection maybe on the battery- best clean them and refit. Batteries can die suddenly so do not rule that out as impossible.

yep, you can have a dead cell & still show full charge, but as soon as you put any load on the battery, it fails.

Take off and clean battery connections. Also check the earth strap bolt is tight on the PPF. It runs from the wiring loom to the PPF frame just adjacent to the rear universal joint on the tailshaft (under the car, just a bit behind the drivers seat).

So charging seems to have fixed the issue, not sure why it died so suddenly, hopefully it doesn't happen again for a while. Thanks for the help ;)

Be warned, since you've had your battery die for no good reason, there's a pretty good chance it's on its last legs.. I'd be parking on hills from now on should the battery give up the ghost again.

Do you have a multimeter? Put it on the battery and get a friend to start your car, the volts should not drop below 10.5V as its being started.

I had the same issue with an MX-5 battery in another car, plenty of volts but not enough CCA.
