hi all, on the way home today the windscreen wipers just stopped working when went to turn them on and same with the washers, I am guessing it may be a fuse. If anyone knows of a easy fix your help would be greatly appreiciated.
Cheers,
Cheyne

if you have a look at the lid of the fuse box, there is a diagram showing what all the fuses are for.
your wipers fuse is the 20A fuse in the top right hand corner.

pull the fuse first and check if it's stuffed or not.

Good work fatty

Check it is actually the fuse before you buy anything.
As a matter of interest how would you tell that the fuse is stuffed? Is it like a light globe? Otherwise would you just put anouther fuse (the heater one or something) in place of the wiper one and see if they work?

ben, generally you can just tell by looking at the fuse - see how the bit in the middle is toasted?
blown fuse:

good fuse:

sometimes it can be hard to tell by just looking at it, in which case test it for continuity with a multimeter.

Always useful to have a glovebox owners manual which often covers all these basic questions. If the fuse is blown bear in mind that something caused it and if it blows again quickly then there is a glitch somewhere.Make sure you have a few spares for contingencies. With windscreen wipers I merely replace the rubbers at least annually or whenever they are not doing the job- the cost is then quite nominal in order of $10-15. The Bosch unit includes the arm assy though you will still have to replace the rubber when they deteriorate.
