Anyone in Perth with a Stebel airhorn

Postby redwards » Wed May 07, 2008 9:16 pm

Did anyone in Perth jump in on that group buy for the compact Stebel dual tone airhorn?

It's a little late for the GBs but I'm thinking of getting one off eBay - but want to see how it sounds first. I don't think the squeak that comes out of my laptop speakers is a true representation of the sound they make...

They are deafeningly loud. Same as any quality air horns.

After having mine for over a month, I finally got it fitted this afternoon by Mania, and boy it is loud. I just love that air horn sound - very cool sound indeed. Plus there is no lag either. They go as soon as you hit the horn button.

Very happy with it. 8)

I know it's not the same thing as being there, but here's a YouTube video of an NC with the Stebel Nautilus horn fitted.

Here's one that compares the original with the Stebel.

By the way, if you're getting one, make sure it's the Stebel Nautilus Compact version. Emphasing on the \"Compact\". This is their new version. They have one model simply called a Stebel Nautilus Air Horn. The \"Compact\" version is the best one for the MX5.

You won't be too late for Round 3

The second "comparison" clip that Hammer posted is a good one.
Keep in mind that the most effective/tangible difference is installing one on an NA as we only got one little-bitty horn whereas NB&NC came with 2.
