My remote kida broke (the plastic cracked and it kept on cummin off the key ring)
Basically I went to the dealer and purchased a new remote...
On top of paying for the remote the dealer wanted to charge me another 50 bucks to make it work for my car!
I followed these instructions from miata net...
http://www.miata.net/garage/remoteprog.html
Saved me 50 bucks and now I have a new working remote.
New remote works!

Now that is gold wun911!
I have a pair of factory remotes at home from my previous car which had an alarm installed. One of my keys for the SP has gone missing (very suspicious about Craig's potential involvement... ), so reprogramming and getting a key cut will sort this out nicely.
Anyone had an NB8B key replaced (I'm guessing it will be big $$$ as it has the transponder built in...)?
Cheers,
Dave

There is a link on how to program the key to an mx5 on miata net...
(you need two original working keys in order to program up a third blank)
I have tried and tried the method but to no avail.
Dealer wants $70 to progam the third key. The key itsef cots about $70 aswell (from memory).
The dealer will tell you \"dont ever put that blank key into the ignition or you car will never start again...\" You can ignore that... if you do program your own key please PM me as to how you did it.
