Mounting HeadUnit in NA

Hey Guys..

i have just put a standard MP3 headunit in my MX.. but i cant for the life of me figure out how to mount it up in the console (it is the 94+ fascia).. and the bracket isnt like my old Sony one...

does anybody have some cool ideas on ways in which they have mounted theres with similar problems

and its an ALPINE headunit btw.. anyone who owns an Alpine have any dramas??

Mine is an Alpine, the back has a really long bolt covered in a rubber boot that slides through a hole (part of the back of the dash) to keep it from moving, and the front is taken care of by the cage that comes with it. I hope that helps...

I too have an alpine head unit. The head unit was originally mounted using the 1 din frame that it was supplied with, but I found this to be less than secure. With my stiff suspension it came loose a couple of times, so I used the method as described below.


I used the metal frame that the original Panasonic radio was mounted to. Basically I took the old radio out, separated the radio and mounting frame, remounted the frame into the dash, slide the new head unit into the frame and then marked the position of the head unit in the frame. I then removed the frame from the dash. I found that by drilling a couple of holes in the frame that I could use the existing threaded mounting holes in the body of the head unit. I was also able to mount a 1 din cubby hole mounted below the head unit.

What happened to ur double din dvd player?
