Review of my MX5 Dvd Player! (eonon)

Hey guys..

just thought i would give you an update on my DVD player i have installed in my car, i purchased it for the following reasons
a) it was cheap (first mistake)
b) the colour of the buttons at night
c)overall appearance did not stick out too much in the MX5.
d) it has SD and USB ports.. as well as the usual (mp3, dvd, cd, vcd etc, tv. radio)

it can be seen here
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/626-7-TFT-LCD-CA ... dZViewItem

PROS:
-Fits nice in the MX.. and only partly sticks out (to allow screen to open)
-Sound and Picture quality is great for the price
-Very Simple to use.. (most of the time)

CONS:
-Does support MP3 Discs but it doesnt work so well with folders.. to change folders you must really be watching the screen.. quite a distraction really
-Does not have RCA outputs specifically for Amp use..
-Radio stations to not stay set,

and finally the big one..

Volume and Track selector buttons have become stuck which means i have to use the remote.. NO BIG DEAL RIGHT???.. WRONG!.. the buttons are not only stuck but they now have a mind of there own.. driving along and the Volume up button gets stuck and starts pumping music.. then all of a sudden.. down it goes to 0

this DVD player.. is now useless.. but as the old saying goes.. you get what you pay for.. and for $300 what should i have expected..

this is just my 2 cents.. but i thought i should let everyone know of my experiences from this \"eonon\" company based in Hong Kong..

saving for an Apline DVD player is my next option.. until then im driving in silence..

That sucks
my headunit was broken a few weeks ago, I'm always so paranoid that someone will break into my car just to get my headunit so I always remove the faceplate and deadlock it in the boot, alas I was carrying too much and it landed on a concrete carpark floor, just waiting holidays to decide if it's worth getting a new faceplate or just replacing the whole unit

Having said this everyone should not be put off the cheap chinese head units. Sorry about yours Ajay but mine is also an ebay unit although not the same brand and it has worked perfectly for the last year that I have had it. Sure enough you don't get the same feeling of classiness that you do with the clarions, pioneers, alpines, etc but then mine only cost $400 and most people can't tell the difference. It has touch screen, rca outs for the amplifiers (even for the 5th channel on the 5.1 sound), great internal amp and it takes SD card as well as files and folders on DVD. I have a disc in there at the moment with I think about 1500? songs. The point is not to discount all Chinese stuff some of it is ok. I would like the classier backdrops of the higher end stuff though

I'm surprised by it not having RCA outs? I would've thought you wouldn't have bought it if you knew it didn't have RCA outs?

i dont know much about the back of the unit when i bought it.. but the ebayer user said it did have RCA outputs.. turns out you had to use rear speaker plugs to run the amp
