Hey guys..
just thought i would give you an update on my DVD player i have installed in my car, i purchased it for the following reasons
a) it was cheap (first mistake)
b) the colour of the buttons at night
c)overall appearance did not stick out too much in the MX5.
d) it has SD and USB ports.. as well as the usual (mp3, dvd, cd, vcd etc, tv. radio)
it can be seen here
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/626-7-TFT-LCD-CA ... dZViewItem
PROS:
-Fits nice in the MX.. and only partly sticks out (to allow screen to open)
-Sound and Picture quality is great for the price
-Very Simple to use.. (most of the time)
CONS:
-Does support MP3 Discs but it doesnt work so well with folders.. to change folders you must really be watching the screen.. quite a distraction really
-Does not have RCA outputs specifically for Amp use..
-Radio stations to not stay set,
and finally the big one..
Volume and Track selector buttons have become stuck which means i have to use the remote.. NO BIG DEAL RIGHT???.. WRONG!.. the buttons are not only stuck but they now have a mind of there own.. driving along and the Volume up button gets stuck and starts pumping music.. then all of a sudden.. down it goes to 0
this DVD player.. is now useless.. but as the old saying goes.. you get what you pay for.. and for $300 what should i have expected..
this is just my 2 cents.. but i thought i should let everyone know of my experiences from this \"eonon\" company based in Hong Kong..
saving for an Apline DVD player is my next option.. until then im driving in silence..
