NB Poor radio reception!!

Postby fleery » Thu Oct 18, 2007 12:26 pm

Hey all,

I have a NB8B, and basically the radio recption is crappy. I mostly drive around Syd, so not sure if its just a Syd thing, or an MX5 thing!

I have had Mazda take a look, but they say nothing is wrong with it! They said they checked the connections. It seems as you drive it goes through periods of good and bad, and if its bad I just creep fwd a bit and it goes good! Thankfully Ive got a ipod adapter!

Any info would be great!

Thanks.

I've had the same problem recently. It occured about the same time as I upgraded my speakers so I put it down to the improved top end of the new speakers highlighting the fuzzy reception. I quite often stop in bad reception but roll forward a metre or so and it's OK again. I listen to Nova. I wonder if they have changed their transmitter?

Yeah I get it with Nova as well! They definately seem to be worse than the other stations. I still have the factory speakers. The having to roll forward just as a good tune comes on is very annoying!! Anyone fitted a different aftermarket aerial that made it better - ie like the S2000 or NC?
