Depends on your music tastes. I personally run 6x9's in the boot because I need something that will pick up the frequencies the sub won't, and the frequencies that the stock bose won't. Problem is that I need to mount them into the cabin to actually hear them better.

The 6\" splits will do you nicely if you just want something better than stock and don't listen to any doof doof.

not sure what size speakers are in the front of the NA
are you getting a sub as well or just looking at full range speakers?
if you are getting a sub then just some cheap co-axials will be fine for rear fill (some people think rear fill isn't required in a 2 seater and will recommend not running anything at the rear but some like it), if you aren't running a sub then get some 6x9's since they can handle the lower frequencies better

i have 6.5\" crossovers in the front of mine and 6\" behind the seats...

i did however cut the door panel only to fit the tweeter.. it looks good though and sits nice and flush..

What is your budget?

A Clarion HX-D2 is a nice, simple looking head unit with some of the best sound quality and build quality around but they aren't cheap ($2,099rrp).

If you hunt around, you may be able to find one for a reasoanble price though.

Jaycar Kevlar Splits fit into NA doors with the tweeters usually cut in low in the dash. They're a popular choice for MX5s at $150.

6 or 6.5\" is fine, just be careful if they have really big magnets. (You won't see why with the door open though, only when you close it do you realise that the door stay protrudes into the magnet area.)
