Hey Guys..
thought i would post some pics of my new speakers just for the sake of it.. if anyone cares..
my headrest 4\" fusions kicked the bucket the other day so i wanted to try the parcel shelf speakers that i have seen done..
i just cut holes in the metal plate and drilled them in
not much bass through them but still sound much better then the headrest ones.. the leather seats muffled heaps of the sound..
as you can see i have the NB glass window soft top on my NA the edge of the soft top only just covers part of the speaker but it doesnt press on it or affect sound (i mounted the speakers before fitting the soft top )
Rear Speakers.. PICS

arrr soft top is easy to get out.. only like 12 bolts just take the rear carpet out and you will see them.. just dont crack your rain rail..
why do you need to remove the soft top to get to your parcel tray?... i did mine without removing the top.. or my style bar..
i dont know what model your car is if its an NB im not sure.. if its an NA its simple.. i could show you one day if you want
Cheers

So you just got in, pulled up the carpet, and cut with the roof on?
It's probably doable, since you just need to remove the windblocker, then the damn one way button things that holds the carpet onto the rear wall. Pull up, and start cutting right?
The other reason I wanted to take the top off was more as an exercise more than anything else. It means I can get in there and clean the gunky bits of the top and the rain rail, plus it would make the cutting of that sheet metal bit a lot easier. Especially if you could just take the piece out and do it on a bench or something, rather than in the car.

I have a mate of mine who has a 6x9 in a box on top of the centre consol, between the seats....velcro'd to the rear wall....it'd be alright, except you've gotta move it whenever you want the centre consol
