I've seen this used on megasquirt:
1.00 deadtime @ 13.2volts
batt correction .07

Re: Adaptronic owners thread
can someone confirm if the MX5 NA users a stepper motor or PWM for idle control?
also if anyone could post their 1.6 NA map it would be appreciated. (just for comparison).
My car has a big plenum, 11:2 compression, exhaust, fuel rail and electronic water pump.
my map can be found attached. (Runs well under heavy throttle.. needs work at idle and cruise).
thanks.

Re: Adaptronic owners thread
So, I just finished off putting in my Select ECU, ID1000's, MAC valve and part of the MTX-L. I couldn't fit the sensor due to the bung in the exhaust being too short. I've only spent 20mins trying to get it run and have managed to get it to start and run for 5 or so seconds by adjusting the master fuel trim. The engine runs upm to 3500rpm, settles for a moment, drops to 2500rpm and then just dies. I haven't run through the info on setting idle on the adaptronic forum. Can't be bothered doing anymore tonight. Does anyone have any other handy hints or tips? The cars getting tuned on Thursday but I need to get it there and would like to avoid paying for a tow truck! If someone is kinda enough to donate a map I'm happy to make it worth your while.

Re: Adaptronic owners thread
You should PM Lokiel, he has the same injectors so should hopefully get you going.
Mine are ID725s and I run a different fuel pressure so it won't be as close as his map.
Cheers

Re: Adaptronic owners thread
If you want to persist with your current map you could try setting the minimum value for the idle valve to 60 (under the idle tab). If it idles too high then lower it down.

Re: Adaptronic owners thread
Thanks Timk. I'll try fiddling with the idle table as you said. I'm only starting form the base map off the adaptronic website, so its very basic.

Re: Adaptronic owners thread
Plugged mine in for the first time in ages last night, got some ecu restore from boot error. Ive updated WARI and will try later. Hope I haven't killed any settings.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

I've PM'ed some ideas regarding the ID1000s and fuel pressure, but can you post your configuration (ie. mods), you have a better chance of getting something working quickly if someone has a very similar configuration and can share their MAP.
FYI: I can share a good professionally-tuned MAP (Bob Romano) for an SE with 305cc injectors + AEM CAI + FM 2.5" exhaust.
Also for anyone who hasn't seen it already, see Travis' (Boundary Engineering) MX5 Idle Tuning Guide: https://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCIQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.miataturbo.net%2Fattachments%2Fadaptronic-63%2F13094d1251235765-setting-up-idle-manual-setting-idle-mx.pdf&ei=q2oiVaaKN8vk8AXZoIHwCA&usg=AFQjCNHN3OUenKQwXvccsDAy5S48kiOu1g&sig2=3BqN7M02mKjRk5E1chCoWg&bvm=bv.89947451,d.dGc
It's old but still a good guide that I refer to.

Re: Adaptronic owners thread
Lokiel, I'll give your suggestions and run through that idle tuning guide tomorrow arvo and report back.
Mods are, Nitro Dann 3" TBE, AEM CAI, FMIC, ID1000's and a MAC 3 port valve. Probably too different to the map you are able to share?

Re: Adaptronic owners thread
I had an Adaptronic stand alone ECU with an inbuilt MAP sensor fitted to my stock SP in March and I'm still sorting a few things out. I have a stumble on throttle tip in and I was reading some stuff Andy wrote about map sensor installation. Where is everyone connecting their map sensor on the intake manifold? Mine is connected to the barb just behind the throttle plate. Andy suggests that this isn't a good place due to turbulence caused by the throttle plate. Should I relocate it?

I've got the square/flat-top manifold too in my SE now and unlike the stock SE manifold, which has more barbs hanging off it than Moby Dick (mostly to support the VTCS), there aren't many options on the square/flat-top.
I've got my MAP boost source coming from the "spare-now" front side barb of the manifold, which as you now know, isn't ideal because the air fluctuates most behind the TB since the butterfly valve is fluctuating. My BOV is connected to the barb on top of the manifold.
Ideally you want the MAP source from the centre of the intake manifold since that's where the air flow is the least disturbed.
The rear of the manifold is the next best choice but only because it's not behind the butterfly valve. Many MSM/SE guys tap one of the barbs on the rear of the manifold as a boost source (see http://www.mazda-speed.com/forum2/index.php/topic,3109.0.html).
Some people have tapped the brake booster as a boost source; BEGi make a brake booster adapter specifically for this - see http://www.bellengineering.net/index.php?cPath=5_60_255 and http://www.bellengineering.net/product_info.php?cPath=5_60_255&products_id=99
I've always been wary of doing this as feedback to an ECU though since braking will affect this readout drastically. Can you get Andy's thoughts on doing this - I'd like to know what an ECU guru thinks of this idea.
If I was to add another barb to the manifold, I'd probably tap it about half way.
- all food for thought.

Re: Adaptronic owners thread
My BOV is also connected to the top barb, the same one the MAP uses. I have my boost gauge, cruise control and the OEM stuff connected to the other barbs so things are pretty congested.
