Great minds think alike indeed, Alfadog.
Simplicity wins in a cabin like MX5's.
For $130, I was really happy with the purchase.

Got all my new bits to accompany the head unit now... I am very happy, the needle caps are exactly the same style as the control knob on the head unit. OK so nobody will actually notice ... except ME :D

Preparing for the install day some weekend away when I have time... The question is for the head unit DO I need to buy some other part for wiring purposes?

Oooh err... now aren't you Mr. Fancy Pants

Nope! just use splice through the wiring harness they provide. The placement will prove to be a little tricky though. If your car was anything like mine, the aerial cable will be abit fiddly too.

Where'd you get the dial rings from? I don't particularly want the aluminium face, but I wouldn't mind a set of dial rings to go with my centre caps :P

Then all I need is some dial faces and I'm set :)

You've done a nice neat job there. You're gonna love the USB function.

JVC KD-SX985 in my old dashboard, but with the wider 96+ console fascia and storage trya. It's quite an old headunit now, but still does the trick. One like Jules' would be nice, but.

Hahah I have that same JVC unit, I like it, all the features I want and easy to use. My friends think its awful because they dont like the colours the face uses or the fact it doesnt have a screen, but they're wankers anyway
