I have an Esel039 in my SE.
The car runs pretty good for track work so no this not a tuning question.
Anyway, I have had what I though was an alternator failure a few weeks ago, but after checking 4 alternators(3 spares were in a working state when last used), and all the wiring I have come to the conclusion that the regulator circuit in my ECU is dead.
Awaiting possible repair solution from Adaptronic, but its not looking promising as parts seem to be an issue for an older ECU.
Now has anyone ever analysed the signal the ECU sends to the alternator?
On the NB8B application this is the grey wire with red stipe that goes from Pin 3M on the ECU plug to what I'm assuming would be the alternator exciter circuit.
See attached my 2 CRO captures.
You can pretty much see why I believe the O/P out the ECU is not right
I don't think the signal should be 200MHz!!!
Sorry forgot to change the probe multiplier for the first shot.
This is showing across 25ns. Yes nano seconds.
