Ahh, no.
The one I spotted was at the front of the rail, tucked behind the VICS solenoid.
I must have missed that one behind the EGR crap.

Just dug around mine with the torch, there is not a single thing on the back of the rail, there's injector #4, then just a blunt end with nothing.
There's a similar pulse damper/regulator on the front of the rail, but it's vac line goes to a solenoid over near the overflow bottle (I was mistaken, it's not the egr solenoid, it's the one just behind it)

Its what the vac hose in the 2nd pic leads to.
Damper/reg on the front of the fuel rail.

Good to know.
For now I've hooked the map up to the port on the rear of the manifold, so far seems steady enough for a good signal, fluctuating only about 0.5cm of mercury.

Not sure, no way to currently check fuel pressure.
It shouldn't be, currently I don't have it hooked up via the pressure ref, currently the vac gauge is just hooked up to the port on the back of the intake mani (think it's he ones used for cruise control if fitted)

Im suggesting that the ecu (which controls fuel delivery and whos main reference is vacuum) should share the fuel regulators reference so any minor fluctuations are directly compensated for by the ecu.

ahhh, that makes total sense.
I'll grab a T piece and a fresh roll of vac hose and hook it up that way when I properly put the ECU in.
I still need to have a wideband bung welded into the extractors before I can properly install (plus need to get a GM temp sensor and thread it into the system)

so, it's in, car started etc.
only odd part, I cant seem to see my AFRs in WARI.
the Innovate MTXL is plugged in via serial (2.5mm cable) and the special functions tab is set to LC1
o2 sensor under analogue calibrations is set to none.
I cant seem to see the AFRs on the gauge window, only the target afr (mtxl gauge on the dashboard is working fine)
any tips?

Worked it out.
If the MTXL has the program cable plugged into the IN port (even if the cable isn't plugged into the laptop) it won't output anything to the ecu.
Removed the DB9 program cable and bang, instant AFR showing in WARI and Eugene.
Now I just need to try and make heads and tails on tuning the damn thing, and getting it to start without needing a good load of throttle on cranking. (Idles fine once its started, just takes a lot of cranks to start from cold)

Should probably update this.
ECU is in, and in the end i just took it to a tuner to get it done.
a day on the dyno and a morning of cold starts vs me stuffing around with it for months trying to get it running well.
Starts fine, runs great, only thing I need looked at is the lean tip in on sudden throttle at low revs, a lean/rich stumble at low throttle high revs, and in cold weather with some electrics running the idle will pulse madly sometimes (as in, drop to 150rpm, jump to 1000, back down to 150, etc. then sometimes stall)
Not super shocking, since the weather was pretty warm when it was tuned, so they wouldn't have had a chance to do any cold weather testing.
Thankfully this stuff is included in the tune price, so after easter it goes back for them to look into those bits.
I'll also add a warning, the Adaptronic provided base tune was pretty average to say the least.
Once running it was in the ballpark, a few weirdly crazily rich bits, and lean bits, but generally close enough to start from.
ignition timing map was (according to the tuner) really quite aggressive, especially for a base tune.
and the cranking map was absolutely abysmal, as in, it was basically just filling the cylinders with fuel whenever you'd try and crank (it literally tried to hydrolock)
So yeah, to anybody who gets an Adaptronic Select NB8A, while the rest of the base tune is an ok start point, the crank map you're basically going to have to start from scratch.
