NA6 AFM is designed to cut fuel as soon as no air flow is detected - see following to circumvent:

Thanks clubman, I'll do that when I remove the AFM and wire the temp sensor up. Or maybe move the purple pump relay trigger wire on the ecu to the na8 trigger out.

Not saying what you're suggesting won't work, but once AFM was removed & if leaving AFM loom in place, think I'd still jumper the AFM pins to rule out any potential future issue arising from that disconnect.
