Most ignition systems are the same, don't leave them on but not running..... So if you haven't noticed an inconvenience before, you probably won't now.

An ignition upgrade is required for people pushing over 220rwhp (on a non BS dyno) who want reliability.

I thought you were saying something along those lines...
However unless a change of plugs is considered an ignition upgrade I disagree.
I've made well over that on a standard ignition at a well reputed shop.
I've also run close to 300rwhp on high octane race fuel (117 from memory) on standard ignitior/coilpacks.
No cold start or idle issues, plugs were changed and gapped as per the tuners advice - Nothing fancy, just $4 odd a pop.

Just an update 5 months on, absolutely zero issues with the dwell setup with the crank/starting bypass.
No hesitations on cold driving.
No weird fluttery/powerless engine behaviour during driving after having washed the engine a few times.
Best of all, no bad psychology in knowing to have to change plug leads in 70,000km time..
I'm still running my hideously fugly brackets to secure each COP mounting - tho hopefully later today/this week, the new metal mounts from OMGPham will arrive. : )
i'm still curious if anyone else has encountered my initial issues with attempting a cold start. My bypass relay is working a treat in that situation.
For the peace of mind it's provided- reliable and quick cranking and issueless operation, its a worthwhile upgrade.

More then 12 months on - one more follow up after some recent interested PMed to me today:
The dwell setup has been running flawlessly. I received the bracket from OMGPham months ago and the engine bay looks way less ghetto. The bracket also makes it much more convenient to replace the spark plugs during a service. The mounting box for the dwell circuitry has been out of harms way, the loom hasn't been damaged from regular engine bay inspections and other works. The bypass relay is working beaut and is all peachy keen.
