Good idea, what else can we also get made?
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Are the NB8A the same as the NA6?
I have already sent for a quote on the NA6/NA8 interior light and awaiting a reply back on costs.

If the NB8A is diferent, can someone post a pic (front and rear of cover) next to a scale ruler?

NA6 shown below:

[EDIT] I have just seen that they are different. I'll need that pic but it shouldn't be too far off in price compard to the NA6!
Is there one or two lights?
Are they the same?

The reason the lenses has optics which is in the moulding die is to dissipate light- the interior light is not designed for reading. If you have a clear lense you will have more light but in theory you will also have a rather ugly view of the festoon and possible some dazzle- same logic for home lighting when using a shade. If one looks at most interior lights in cars you will find that they are moulded in an opaque plastic and the purpose is to provide a light for general convenience not reading the street directory. If you want to read then I would use the right product.

you are right opaque is the wrong word- I meant that optics or a non clear material restricts light output by design.

I installed a NB8A cabin light into my Clubman, it made a difference but I wanted more light so I got one of these..

They can be found in Australia easily now, when I got mine a couple years back I had to order it from USA. I don't smoke so its no big deal for me, its very bright, well made, and looks good too. If that's not enough I have a Cree led torch in the glove box, for blinding people...

You just reminded me about this. I bought a kit for my NB8B about 5 months ago that I'm yet to fit. Totally forgot about it. DOH!! :)
