Except that my NA had a buzzer that reminded you to put the seatbelt on.

Yep the NB8C has a buzzer for the lights and a beeper for the door.
As already mentioned , If the key is fully in the ignition and the door is open the beeper goes.
2. The lights make a buzzing sound or visa versa.Problem is you can't use the radio and have the door open as the radio needs the key in the slot and key in slot makes all the noise!!!!

forgot to mention the seat belt noise too but that goes away when you put belt on The annoyance is when stationary and wanting the radio /CD to work ( washing or working on car)

I guess I get too paranoid about draining the battery, I've just got an old stereo system in the garage for when I need tunes.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Great news Sliq. Thanks for that. Now have to wait for the week- end to do the deed.

Why wait? It's literally a 5 minute job. How hard can it be to unplug a plug? I did a mates car in the carpark after dinner one night with a mobile phone as a torch.

Hip Hip Hooray! the beep is gone!!!!!!!!!
For info, it is accessed by removing the steering wheel plastic surround in front of the s.wheel
On my NB8C it is situated just to the left of the column. The wires are a blue/green.
The white wires mentioned in earlier post did not stop the sound.
I am now in TOTAL love with the titanium beast.

But then your interior light wont work with the door and you will have some issues getting a new key to talk to the immobiliser

and most alarms use those to detect if someone has gained access.
