Hi Guys,
It has been a while since my last group email on the RaceLogger. Time seems to fly. I have some good news to report. There are now 3 loggers in active service that have collected race data. Two of the loggers have GPS fitted. The third will by the next track day on July 8.
All the logged data looks to be correct. The Race Logger happily logs the Engine Monitor data (all 3 cars with race loggers also have the engine monitor EM PRO II fitted). I will be testing the integration of the GTR 4WD Controller logging into my logger next track day for lateral G and longitudinal G forces. The other race car has separate lateral G, longitudinal G and a Gyro to measure yaw rate. This sensor looks to be good and is a lot cheaper than off the shelf.
I have checked the GPS lap timing data with the two cars fitted and it looks to also be working correctly. I am now to work on Split times etc.
The RaceAnalysis software has begun development. Currently I have a concept screen and data import is almost complete. The data import is important to get right as it is used to post process the race data, identifying the individual laps and producing a processed output that will be used for analysis.
I have added another function into the RaceLogger alarm outputs. You can now set a fan control mode (or pump control) that lets you set a on / off point so the motor does not hunt. Eg. The thermo fan on my GTR is controlled by the RaceLogger, it switches on at 88deg and off at 82deg.
Engine Monitor (EM PRO II). If you have an EM PRO II we will update the firmware when convenient. I have made some functions work nicer internally and have also added a new function “Advanced Fuel Pressure” which allows you to subtract the boost and rising rate regulator from the fuel pressure to get a single value that can be alarmed against. For example, if your fuel rail is 45psi and you run 25psi boost with a 1:1 regulator your fuel pressure will be at 70psi on full boost. So having an alarm at 35psi will only see a problem very late. With the new feature the EM PRO II will see the fuel pressure drop at 10psi under (45 – 35 as the user set removing the boost etc)
I still have a couple of RaceLoggers with me from the original batch. I know a few of you had cars that were not ready etc. Please provide me an update so we can start with your install.
Also if you are after an EM PRO II there are 5 left in the first batch I am assembling.
Regards
Paul Ruzic
