Radio antenna and head unit stopped working

Postby peterd » Fri Jan 03, 2025 10:22 am

As mentioned above the aerial doesn't engage and the radio has stopped working I've changed the fuse even tho the other one looked OK

Any suggestions as to what might be the problem

Presume you mean the aerial auto up/down not working? I'd suspect a fuse in the head unit itself. I know the NB8A radios were suss, but that was the screen not the functioning, you just had to blindly search for stations. Pretty sure I have one from the black 2003 I dismantled if you want a replacement. I'd pull yours first though, its not too hard.

If it was me, I'd welcome this opportunity to replace it with a modern screen-based unit with Bluetooth, and not look too closely in case it was something simple like a fuse  8)

I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)

Yes true its a clarion not original. Have checked all the fuses. But yeah it's probably telling me it needs a modern upgrade

Fixed now it was a combination of blown fuse and power cable falling out of the head unit
