I ended up fitting a Deka Gold 8AMU1R (320 CCA) battery in. Was available off the shelf from the local Battery World. Correct height and width, and not as long, for the spot. It's an AGM and they say non-venting but has two vent holes that I connected up. 40 month warranty. Was a bit pricey at $299.00 though.
Big difference. A bunch of my weird electrical issues resolved with the new battery. Shows what an effect a bad battery can have.
